Job summary

JF Construction Services in Denver, CO is seeking an Estimator to own the full estimate process across trades. You will qualify subcontractor bids, engage with suppliers, and coordinate with senior estimators to resolve scope questions while meeting tight project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of multiple trades common to the company’s project portfolio.
• Experience qualifying subcontractor bids and scopes of work.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools.
• Strong verbal communication skills for contractor outreach and follow-up.
• Ability to manage multiple active estimates simultaneously.
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and MVR if driving for the company.

Responsibilities

• Continuously build knowledge of trades, materials, and construction methods relevant to company project types.

The Estimator is the core of the estimating department, a well-rounded professional with solid trade knowledge and the ability to take a project through the full estimate process with standard oversight. You know the work, you know the tools, and you're reliable. This role requires both technical competence and strong contractor engagement skills, and it's the foundation from which more senior roles are built.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate estimates for construction projects across relevant trades and disciplines


• Qualify subcontractor scope and pricing, ensuring appropriate coverage and competitive bids


• Reach out to and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the bid process

• Ability to manage multiple active estimates simultaneously


• Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, background check, and MVR, if driving for the company


• Physical Requirements: include occasional lifting/carrying of 10 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
