Job summary

American Construction Corporation seeks an Estimator to develop accurate, competitive project estimates in Peabody, MA. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze costs, and prepare budgets to position projects for success.

You will collaborate with Preconstruction, Operations, and Field teams to ensure timely bid delivery. The ideal candidate has 3–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and costs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and final estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
• Assist in developing project budgets and preliminary schedules.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Field Managers, and Preconstruction personnel to develop project strategies.
• Participate in estimate reviews and project turnover meetings.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, databases, and historical cost information.
• Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.
• Assist in maintaining estimating standards, processes, and software tools.
