Job summary

Linbeck Group seeks a Student Professional Estimator in Fort Worth, TX to develop project estimates from drawings and specifications, manage take-offs, and create bid packages. The role encompasses subcontractor coordination, contract drafting, and cost data analysis to support project success.

The position requires a construction or related degree and internship experience, or 4+ years of practical construction project work with Linbeck or a design firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business and the successful completion of one or more internship assignments, each lasting 3 or more months
• Or, 4 or more years of construction project work experience with Linbeck, an MEPF subcontractor and/or design firm, in lieu of a degree
• Proficiency with take-off software and contract documentation processes

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure the assigned scope is estimated, contracted, and procured to meet contractual obligations
• Responsible for take-off phase of project, including obtaining architect plans, inputting plan into take off software, and calculating parameters
• Create bid lists and assess subcontractors based on project size and complexity
• Direct bid invitations with subcontractors and ensure timely submissions
• Manage scoping of projects, including quotes from subcontractors and pricing items
• Interface with subcontractors and suppliers through proper document distribution and pre-qualification
• Provide guidance to scheduling and project teams for procurement and timelines
• Contribute to overhead and general condition planning and pricing (staffing, equipment)
• Write and review vendor contracts with inclusions/exclusions and job requirements
• Collect, analyze, and inventory historical cost data for inclusion in the database
