Trillium Construction is seeking a highly skilled Estimator / Preconstruction Manager for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a leading site development contractor based in the Roswell/Atlanta area.
This contractor specializes in grading and earthwork projects ranging from 5 to 60 acres and offers a full suite of site services including erosion control, clearing, grading, sanitary and storm sewer installation, water line work, as well as paving, curbing, and wall construction.
Position Overview:
The Estimator / Preconstruction Manager will play a critical role in preconstruction efforts from bid strategy through proposal preparation and handoff to field operations. The ideal candidate has experience estimating civil sitework projects and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine the full Scope of Work
-Perform site visits to assess access, soil conditions, and staging logistics
-Complete detailed takeoffs using Agtek or similar software for volume and quantity calculations
-Solicit and evaluate subcontractor pricing and define subcontractor scopes
-Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals with qualifications and clarifications
-Coordinate project setup including utility locates and internal handoff meetings
-Manage buyouts, issue purchase orders, and set up cost tracking systems
-Track and price change orders, maintain budget accuracy, and support monthly billing
-Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to field execution

Minimum Qualifications:
-Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
-Civil/site development estimating experience (grading, erosion control, utilities, etc.)
-Ability to perform takeoffs and read/interpret site plans
Preferred Qualifications:
-Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid or similar estimating software
-Background in project or field management a plus
