Job summary

Stratus, a leader in brand implementation and maintenance, seeks a Construction Estimator to deliver market-competitive project costs. You will interpret drawings, specs, and bids, perform material takeoffs, and compile detailed estimates for national projects in a remote home-office setting.

You will access tools like Excel, RS Means, Bluebeam, and BuildingConnected, collaborate with vendors and project managers, and help shape the cost position across multiple trades.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction-related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a commercial construction estimator.
• Retail/Restaurant TI experience preferred.
• Programmatic rollout experience preferred.
• Merchandising & fixtures experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the RFP Bid process and CSI divisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, and standards to provide material take-offs and cost estimates.
• Work in Microsoft Office, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, RS Means, and Contractor Blue Book programs.
• Create and compile detailed, accurate cost estimates.
• Obtain, organize, and analyze subcontractor quotes across trades and negotiate prices.
• Collaborate with Operations to align cost strategy and project goals.
• Scope and estimate both small and large-scale projects and programs.
• Meet with clients and communicate estimates professionally.
• Host site visits and ensure data accuracy for subcontractors.

Job Summary The Construction Estimator accurately estimates projects by gathering qualified bids, reviewing blueprints, specifications, and related documents, and creating a market competitive cost position.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards, and other information to provide material take-offs and accurate, market competitive cost estimates.
• Work in Microsoft Office, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, RS Means, and Contractor Blue Book programs
• Create and compile detailed, accurate cost estimates
• Obtain, organize, and analyze multiple subcontractor quotes across varying trades by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating price nationally.
• Collaborate with Operations on operational strategy and ensure alignment with cost position
• Ability to scope and estimate small and large-scale one-off projects and programs.
• Plot and route programs in mapping software systems such as Route4Me, etc.
• Consult with project managers, vendors, and other departmental personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Meet with clients and communicate in a professional and knowledgeable manner
• Host job walks and attend site visits.
• Support continued development of subcontractor data base.

Education, experience, certifications

• Degree in construction related field a plus
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a commercial construction estimator
• Retail/Restaurant TI experience preferred
• Programmatic rollout experience preferred
• Merchandising & fixture experience preferred
• Knowledge & understanding of the RFP Bid process
• Knowledge & understanding of the CSI divisions
• Existing vendor & subcontractor relationships a plus

Pay Transparency

$80,000 - $100,000 Annually

This range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation based on the nature of the position, individual, department, and/or company performance.

Work Environment

This role operates in a remote home office environment, with regular collaboration within and across teams. The position involves extended periods of sitting, computer use, and virtual communication and interaction. Physical requirements may include lifting up to 20 pounds and general movement within an office setting.
