Job summary

Alyeska Builders LLC is seeking an Estimating Specialist in Interior Alaska to turn client ideas into well-planned projects through accurate estimates and clear communication. You’ll work with clients, trade partners, vendors, and internal teams to gather details, coordinate bids, and prepare estimates, ensuring a positive client experience and solid project start.

In this role you’ll meet with clients, visit sites, finalize material selections, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate project estimates, detailed specifications, and material selections.
• Attend client meetings and project site visits to gather information and document details.
• Prepare, send, and follow up on bid requests to trade partners and vendors.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding estimating progress and next steps.
• Coordinate with trade partners, vendors, and internal teams regarding estimates and project progress.

Estimating Specialist

Alyeska Builders is a locally owned general contractor serving Interior Alaska, and we're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Estimating Specialist to help turn client ideas into well-planned projects through accurate estimates, clear communication, and exceptional customer service.

Our Estimating Specialists play an important role in the early stages of every project, working closely with clients, trade partners, vendors, and our internal team to gather project details, develop specifications, coordinate bids, and prepare accurate estimates. The goal is simple: provide clients with a positive experience while ensuring every project begins with clear expectations, thorough documentation, and a solid estimate.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing accurate project estimates, detailed specifications, and material selections
• Scheduling and attending client meetings and project site visits to gather information, assess project needs, and document details
• Preparing, sending, and following up on bid requests to trade partners and vendors
• Maintaining consistent communication with clients regarding project details, estimating progress, and next steps

• Creating, updating, and maintaining estimating templates, specification templates, and project schedules
• Utilizing estimating software and current material pricing to develop, review, and prepare project estimates
• Assisting with incoming leads, client inquiries, account setup, scheduling, and general office support as needed
• Supporting project managers and field teams with communication and coordination throughout projects

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of construction experience
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
• Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and estimating practices
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, trade partners, vendors, and internal teams
• Strong follow-through, problem-solving skills, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of responsibilities, and completing tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize estimating and project management software
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Positive attitude, accountability, strong work ethic, and a growth-minded, team-first mentality

Employment Requirements

As part of the Alyeska Builders team, employees are expected to:

• Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Complete OSHA-10 certification before employment when applicable (company-provided if needed).
• Complete one company-approved continuing education course every six months (provided by the company and completed on your own time).
• Report any driving violations that may affect employment responsibilities.

No Earning Ceiling

Alyeska Builders uses one Journeyman wage scale across all positions, creating a consistent approach to compensation and career growth throughout the company.

Once an employee reaches Journeyman-level status within their position, they become eligible for annual 1–3% performance-based wage increases, allowing earning potential to continue growing with performance, responsibility, and leadership.

• Full-time, year-round employment
• Monday–Friday
• Standard office hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Additional hours may be required based on project needs
