Job summary

Certified of NY Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join the estimating department for high-end commercial and residential projects in New York.

You will evaluate bid specs and drawings, compiling complete bid packages and coordinating with Project Management to track bids and budgets. The role requires reading and analyzing plans, maintaining subcontractor bid logs, and preparing RFIs/RFPs with some scheduling support.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and residential bids, preferably high-end construction.

Job description

Midsize Construction Company seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to be part of the estimating department for both high end commercial and residential projects.

The estimator should have already gained experience for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we have all necessary documents required to successfully bid the project.

Estimators will also work with the Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets for trade buy-outs.

Requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Experience for commercial and residential bids, preferably in High End Construction.
• Must be able to utilize AutoCAD/ Planswift/ or other comparable drafting programs.
• Ability to read and analyze plans and specifications in full detail.
• Prepare bid packages and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and maintain status of plan reproduction.
• Maintain spreadsheet to log in competitive subcontractor bids.
• Review bid requirements thoroughly.
• Develops RFI's, RFP’s, and some scheduling.
• Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe software.
• Positive, thorough, and proactive communication a must as there will be constant interaction with Clients, architects, and subcontractors.
