Job description

Location: Houston, TX

Scott Humphrey has partnered with a reputable and growing general contractor to identify an Estimator who will play a key role in supporting the preconstruction team. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and contributing to successful project pursuits from concept through bid submission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and bid package preparation.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in bid reviews, value engineering efforts, and project turnover meetings.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
• Previous experience as an Estimating Intern, Project Engineer, or in a related construction role.
• Commercial construction experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost analysis.
• Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
