Job summary

BMS CAT is seeking a Construction Estimator in Minnesota to prepare estimates for rebuild projects and market to clients including adjusters and end users.

Experience with restore projects and Xactimate is required; you will review scope, coordinate with operations, and manage payment communications to ensure successful project start to finish.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software.
• Knowledge of production and processing; experience with raw materials, waste, quality control, costs and maximizing project outcomes.
• Knowledge of building and construction, including materials and methods.
• Ability to read and understand project specifications, plans, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of design techniques, principles and tools to complete the project.
• Knowledge of promoting and selling services.
• Ability to monitor processes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Markets to potential customers, including national accounts, adjusters and end users.
• Vets qualified subcontractors for various trades.
• Calls on prospects to provide an estimate for rebuild after a loss.
• Reviews project scope and prepares an estimate.
• Obtains approval and prepares paperwork to begin the project.
• Maintains communication and coordinates work schedule with operations until completion.
• Communicates with local management on issues during the project.
• Ensures quality issues are resolved and proper payment protocol is followed.
• Follows up with insurance company/customer until all payments are received.
• Prepares status reports on activity, closings, follow-up and feedback.

Construction Estimator

Do you have experience working with insurance adjusters on claims? Are you organized, detail oriented, with an eye towards perfection? Do you have experience helping people and businesses rebuild following disaster? Do you have the ability to survey a project, envision the finished product and implement the steps needed to fulfill that vision?

Position Summary

Prepares estimates for construction rebuild projects. Markets to potential clients, including adjusters and end users. Previous restoration experience and Xactimate software expertise are required.

Essential Functions

• Markets to potential customers, including national accounts, adjusters, end users, etc.
• Establishes a network and vets qualified subcontractors for the various trades.
• Calls on prospects to provide an estimate for the rebuild of the structure after a loss.
• Reviews the project, determines the scope of work to be completed, and prepares an estimate for the project.
• Reviews the estimate and job scope with insurance representatives and the customer. Obtains approval and prepares proper paperwork to begin the project.
• Maintains good communication and coordinates the work schedule with operations personnel until the project is completed.
• Communicates with local management on any issues that may arise during the work of the project.
• Ensures that any quality issues are resolved.
• Is responsible for ensuring that proper protocol is followed in relation to payment arrangements.
• Follows up with the insurance company/customer until all payments are received.
• Prepares a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals; reports on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity.

• Knowledge of the principles involved in showing, promoting, and selling services.
• Ability to monitor processes and materials.

Compensation

• Base Pay Maximum: $100,000
• Base Pay Minimum: $65,000
• Car allowance or a company vehicle
