Job summary

BMS CAT in Pittsburgh seeks a Project Coordinator / Reconstruction Estimator to write mitigation and reconstruction estimates and move opportunities from initial inspection through signed work.

The role blends estimating, customer communication, insurance coordination, and sales. You will scope losses, write estimates in Xactimate, work with carriers and adjusters, and present scope to customers to secure approval and signed projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of restoration, reconstruction, or insurance estimating experience.
• Experience writing both mitigation and reconstruction estimates.
• Comfortable selling work and communicating directly with property owners.
• Knowledge of restoration practices, construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Experience with insurance carriers, adjusters, and TPAs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial property losses.
• Scope and write mitigation and reconstruction estimates in Xactimate.
• Document damage with measurements, photos, notes, and supporting docs.
• Present estimates and recommended scope to customers.
• Sell mitigation and reconstruction services and secure signed work.
• Work with insurance adjusters, carriers, and TPAs on approvals and supplements.
• Identify additional scope and prepare change orders when needed.
• Coordinate with Project and Construction Managers as jobs move into production.
• Maintain accurate job files and timely communication with customers and internal teams.
• Help move projects efficiently from initial loss through handoff and completion.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Coordinator / Reconstruction Estimator who can write both mitigation and reconstruction estimates and help move opportunities from initial inspection through signed work.

This role combines estimating, customer communication, insurance coordination, and sales. The right person understands the restoration process, can accurately scope a loss, write it in Xactimate, work through carrier approvals and supplements, and confidently sell the project to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience working with insurance carriers, adjusters, and TPAs
• Residential and commercial loss experience preferred
• IICRC certifications such as WRT or ASD are a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites
