Job summary

TEiC Services is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing Industrial Construction team in Duncan, SC. This role develops accurate and competitive project estimates, supports pre-construction, coordinates subcontractor pricing, and partners with operations to ensure successful project execution.

You will review drawings, perform takeoffs across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation scopes, manage subcontractor bids, and help with turnover.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
5+ years of construction estimating experience in heavy industrial environments
Experience estimating projects valued at $15M or greater
Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation scopes
Experience as Project Engineer or Project Manager preferred
Proficiency with Excel and scheduling software; Primavera P6 and InEight are a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and conceptual cost estimates by reviewing drawings, specs, and project requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and equipment scopes
Develop subcontractor bid packages and evaluate proposals
Coordinate with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to align scope, budgets, and schedules
Maintain labor, equipment, and material cost databases and unit pricing
Support proposal development, scheduling, and bid reviews with leadership
Participate in turnover meetings and provide estimating documentation to construction teams
Review drawings, specs, schematics, and other technical docs
Apply industry knowledge and market trends to develop competitive estimates

Job description

TEiC Services is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing Industrial Construction team.

This highly visible role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive project estimates, supporting the full pre-construction process, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and partnering with operations teams to ensure successful project execution. The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in securing new work and supporting change management on active projects.

What You'll Do

Prepare detailed and conceptual cost estimates for heavy industrial construction projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and equipment installation scopes
Develop subcontractor bid packages, manage the solicitation process, and evaluate and level proposals
Collaborate with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to align project scope, budgets, schedules, and execution strategies
Maintain labor, equipment, and material cost databases and unit pricing information
Support proposal development, scheduling, and bid reviews with company leadership
Participate in project turnover meetings and provide estimating documentation to construction teams upon award
Review construction drawings, specifications, schematics, and other technical documents
Apply industry knowledge, commercial awareness, and market trends to develop competitive estimates

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
5+ years of construction estimating experience in heavy industrial environments
Prior experience developing estimates for projects valued at $15M or greater
Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation construction scopes
Experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project scheduling software; Primavera P6 and InEight experience is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
