Job summary

Elsdon Group is a reputable Commercial General Contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area seeking an experienced Estimator to join our expanding team. We focus on K-12, Municipal, Healthcare, and Higher Education projects, handling ground-up and renovation work up to $15M.

You will prepare estimates, perform takeoffs, solicit bids, and collaborate with PMs, superintendents, and design teams to drive successful bids and projects.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of estimating experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
• Strong experience estimating ground-up commercial projects.
• Exposure to K-12, Municipal, Healthcare, or Higher Education projects is highly preferred.
• Experience on projects ranging from $5M-$15M.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labour, materials, and subcontractor scopes.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Assist with bid preparation, scope reviews, and proposal submissions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Owners, and Design Teams during preconstruction.
• Maintain current pricing databases and market knowledge across the DFW construction market.

• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and subcontractor scope gaps
• Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
• Must be local to the DFW area or able to commute to the office regularly
