Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Estimating and bidding: analyze blueprints/specs/contracts, perform takeoffs, solicit proposals.
• Project management: lead turnover from estimating to field, build schedules, manage site logistics, track subcontracts and changes.
• Communication: liaise with local architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors and suppliers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• A Project Manager / Estimator in Pittsburgh's commercial construction sector handles both pre-construction bidding and full project lifecycle execution.
• This dual role requires generating accurate cost estimates and takeoffs, buying out trades, and managing budgets, schedules, and client relations for local vertical builds like tenant fit-outs, offices, and institutional facilities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimating and Bidding

• Analyze architectural and structural blueprints, specs, and contract documents.
• Perform detailed material, labor, and equipment quantity takeoffs.
• Solicit, level, and scope vendor and subcontractor proposals.

Project Management

• Lead internal turnover meetings from estimating to field operations.
• Build project schedules and manage site logistics.
• Oversee subcontracts, process change orders, and track project financials/billing.

Communication

• Liaise with Western Pennsylvania architects, engineers, owners, and local subcontractors and suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• 3 to 7 plus years of combined commercial construction estimating and project management experience within the regional market.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in blueprint reading, local building code familiarity, and expertise with takeoff/estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, Sage) alongside MS Excel.
