Job summary

ACT Construction Equipment is growing and seeks a skilled Construction Equipment Shop Tech to join our Winston-Salem service team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and support customers with on-site and shop-based services.

Ideal candidates bring experience with hydraulic systems, engines, electrical CAN bus, and diagnostic testing, plus welding and A/C knowledge. A CDL or eligibility is a plus and a valid driving record is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with construction equipment repair and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrostatic systems.
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with gas and diesel engines.
• Comfortable using diagnostic testing on computers.
• Basic welding skills.
• Auto A/C system knowledge.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Have a full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• CDL or Class B or eligibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on construction equipment.
• Support customers with solutions to keep heavy equipment in top condition.
• May assist Road tech from time to time.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have experience working with construction or compact construction equipment repair and the following:

• Working knowledge of hydraulic devices and hydrostatic operating systems
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
• Comfortable using computer technology for diagnostic testing purposes
• Basic welding skills
• Auto A/C system knowledge and experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Have full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment
• CDL or Class B or be eligible to achieve CDL a plus
• Must have acceptable driving record (may need to assist Road tech from time-to-time)
