Job summary

Atlantic Coast Toyotalift in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Construction Equipment Shop Tech. This full-time role focuses on planned maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heavy equipment, with a team of experienced technicians.

You will work with Develon, Takeuchi, Bandit, CMC, Avant and more, applying diagnostic skills and mechanical know-how. The position includes a retention bonus, uniforms and boot allowance, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing construction or compact equipment.
• Hydraulic and hydrostatic systems knowledge.
• CAN Bus electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Gas/diesel engine knowledge and experience.
• Computer diagnostic testing abilities.
• Basic welding skills.
• Auto A/C system knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Customer service mindset.
• Full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test gear.
• CDL or Class B preferred or eligible.
• Valid driving record; may assist Road tech as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Use diagnostic testing equipment and documentation systems.
• Coordinate with the service team and assist Road tech when required.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have experience working with construction or compact construction equipment repair and the following:

• Working knowledge of hydraulic devices and hydrostatic operating systems
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
• Comfortable using computer technology for diagnostic testing purposes
• Basic welding skills
• Auto A/C system knowledge and experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Have full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment
• CDL or Class B or be eligible to achieve CDL a plus
• Must have acceptable driving record (may need to assist Road tech from time-to-time)

Salary Description

$23 - $45 per hour
