ACT Construction Equipment in Winston-Salem is seeking a Construction Equipment Shop Tech to join our service team. You will perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel engines, and A/C systems to keep heavy equipment in peak condition.

Candidates should have hands-on repair experience with construction equipment, own basic tools, and good communication skills; CDL or Class B is a plus, with a clean driving record.

• Experience repairing construction equipment or compact machinery.
• Hydraulic and hydrostatic systems knowledge.
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience.
• Gas and diesel engine knowledge.
• Ability to use diagnostic testing tools.
• Basic welding skills.
• Auto A/C system knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Own a full set of mechanic tools.
• CDL or Class B license a plus.
• Clean driving record; may assist Road tech.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have experience working with construction or compact construction equipment repair and the following:

• Working knowledge of hydraulic devices and hydrostatic operating systems
• Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
• Comfortable using computer technology for diagnostic testing purposes
• Basic welding skills
• Auto A/C system knowledge and experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Have full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment
• CDL or Class B or be eligible to achieve CDL a plus
• Must have acceptable driving record (may need to assist Road tech from time-to-time)
