Job summary

Alta Equipment Company in Byron Center, MI is seeking a full-time Parts Specialist for our Construction Equipment Group. This union position is part of Local 324 and will focus on parts purchases, sales, and customer service.

The role requires basic mechanical understanding, strong communication, and the ability to identify parts. Proficiency with Epicor/Silk and MS Office is a plus; attendance and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

Heavy equipment parts counter experience desired (1+ year).
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic mechanical understanding and ability to identify parts by sight/name.
Excellent communication and professionalism required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Epicor/Silk systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Process parts purchases and sales.
Actively sell parts and ask for the sale.
Ensure profit levels meet department goals.
Ensure customer satisfaction, including internal customers.
Check in, unpack and put away delivered parts.
Pick, package and prepare parts for delivery.
Maintain department order and cleanliness.
Assist in physical inventory counts.
Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time.
