Job summary

San Bernardino County is recruiting for Construction Equipment Workers to perform skilled tasks in the construction, repair and maintenance of roads, flood control channels and other public works facilities.

Applicants must hold a valid Class B (or higher) Driver License with tanker endorsement and meet DOT medical/drug testing requirements. Availability to respond promptly to assigned yards and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B (or higher) Driver License with a tanker endorsement and no restrictions for air brakes and manual transmission.
• Some positions may require a Class A license with appropriate endorsements/restrictions.
• DOT drug testing and medical examination are required; random testing applies.
• Availability to respond to yards within 60 minutes (valley/desert) or 45 minutes (mountain) during critical responses.
• Physical: lift up to 50 pounds, work in dust, extreme temperatures, and uneven terrain.
• Sponsorship not available for visa at time of application.

• Perform skilled tasks in construction, repair and maintenance of roads, flood control channels and other public works facilities.
• Adhere to safety, DOT and DMV requirements; comply with licensing and endorsement rules.
• Review and follow the Construction Equipment Worker job description and related procedures.
