Job summary

Monarch Paving, based in Amery, Wisconsin, is hiring a Construction Equipment Operator - Asphalt Paving for the May–November season. You will safely operate asphalt paver, screed, rollers, and other road construction equipment under the foreperson's direction.

This full-time seasonal role requires overtime, some Saturdays, and potential local travel. Union benefits including medical, dental, and a pension are provided; CDL may be required in some cases.

Qualifications

• One or more years of operating road construction equipment.
• Technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL if required.

Responsibilities

• Operate road construction equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., asphalt paver, roller, skid steer).
• Follow foreperson directions and work with crew to maintain productivity.
• Assist with on-the-job training of less experienced staff when needed.
• Work overtime and some Saturdays; local/regional travel may be required.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers.

On the job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities.

This position is a full-time seasonal, working May through November (weather permitting). This position requires working overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.

Position Requirements

1. One or more years in operating road construction equipment is required and/or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation, primarily:
2. Asphalt Paver
3. Paver Screed
4. Steel Drum Roller
5. Must be at least 18 years old
6. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
7. Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL), if required
8. Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone
9. Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees
