Job summary

Monarch Paving in Eau Claire, WI, seeks a Construction Equipment Operator - Asphalt Paving to run a variety of road-building machines. This full-time seasonal role runs May through November, with overtime and some Saturdays required, and regional travel possible.

Under supervision of the foreperson, you’ll handle pavers, rollers, and related equipment. A valid driver’s license is required; CDL eligibility may be needed. Union benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 1+ years operating road construction equipment or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation.
• Technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL if required.
• Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and in moving highway work zones.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving equipment safely and efficiently under foreperson supervision.
• Operate equipment such as paver, screed, rollers, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom and plate tampers.
• On-the-job training with potential for advancement; work overtime and some Saturdays as needed.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

This equipment may include, but is not limited to asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers.

On the job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities.

This position is a full-time seasonal, working May through November (weather permitting). This position requires working overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.
