Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking a Construction Engineering Project Manager in Los Angeles/Orange County to lead CE projects, drawing on core structural engineering expertise. You will collaborate with contractors on diverse, fast-paced building initiatives and shepherd the CE practice in a growth-focused role.

The ideal candidate will bring 8–12 years in CE, a CA PE license or SE preference, and a track record of mentoring staff and winning work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required.
  • 8–12 years of relevant construction engineering experience.
  • California Civil Engineer license required; Structural Engineer in CA preferred.
  • Ability to supervise staff and collaborate with contractors.
  • Business development experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the Construction Engineer Practice Area in the office region and build CE relationships with contractors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage CE projects including steel erection, excavation shoring, and connection design.
  • Oversee junior staff in producing structural construction documents and bid packages.
  • Prepare client proposals with scope, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to generate repeat CE work.
