Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Office Engineer to join our Orange, CA office. The role develops professional work knowledge through standard techniques and supports project teams in civil construction activities.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, field inspections, and reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with project standards. Strong MS Excel and document workflow skills are required to support scheduling and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction office engineering, project administration, or document control on heavy civil, transportation, or public works infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with project management systems (Procore, Primavera Unifier, Kahua, or e-Builder).
  • Hands-on familiarity with 360° construction capture software/hardware (OpenSpace, HoloBuilder, StructionSite, or Cupix).
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and document tracking workflows.

  • Maintains accurate project documentation, including daily reports, field notes, and photographic records to support project tracking and quality assurance.
  • Communicates with project managers, contractors, and team members to coordinate construction activities and resolve field-related issues.
  • Monitors construction activities for adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Assists in schedule development and tracking to support project timeline management and milestone achievement.
  • Participates in project meetings and site coordination activities to support overall project objectives and team collaboration.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Office Engineer to work in our Orange, CA office. This candidate will be performing a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of standard techniques.

Job responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • MVR check required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and direct hands-on field office experience).
  • Experience in construction office engineering, project administration, or document control on heavy civil, transportation, or public works infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with project management systems (e.g., Procore, Primavera Unifier, Kahua, or e-Builder)
  • Hands-on familiarity with 360° construction capture software/hardware (e.g., OpenSpace, HoloBuilder, StructionSite, or Cupix)
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and document tracking workflows.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $70000 to $120000.
