Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group in Baltimore, MD seeks a Construction Engineer to support project delivery by evaluating information, controlling costs and ensuring quality per contract documents. This role collaborates with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and inspectors, guiding drawings, submittals and change requests.

You will prepare scope of work documents, manage meetings, and oversee close-out activities, RFIs, warranties and OMs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years commercial construction experience; familiarity with construction management and productivity software (MS Excel, Word, Project, Procore)

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with Architects, Subcontractors, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors and other partners to resolve plan/spec issues
• Oversee contract drawings and subcontract information; ensure drawings align with the estimate
• Manage submittals and shop drawings; assess conformance to contract specs and resolve conflicts
• Negotiate and request change orders; prepare analyses and obtain estimates from subcontractors
• Oversee close-out; prepare final records such as RFIs, close-out docs, warranties, as-builts and OMs
• Prepare Scope of Work documents for trades and develop project reports
• Schedule and attend meetings such as trade coordination and preconstruction reviews

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
