Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Construction Engineer II for the Bloomington Normal IL service area. The role focuses on supporting the firm’s construction group on wastewater treatment, roadways, bridges and underground water/sewer projects, with opportunities to work directly with clients and assist with project design.

Candidates should be pursuing or aiming for a Professional Engineering license; travel within the service area and strong team collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• 3 years of proven progressive experience in consultant construction engineering.
• Willingness to travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area with own transportation.
• Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs and tests as needed.
• Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors and contractors.
• Maintain job site records including daily reports and pay requests.
• Review pay requests and verify completed work; assist with design of future projects.
