Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Construction Engineer II to support our Crystal Lake or Bannockburn, IL offices. You will assist with roadways, bridges, underground installations, and infrastructure projects while gaining exposure to client interaction and design work.

A path toward Professional Engineering licensure is encouraged. The role offers on-site work with a focus on field observation, coordination with inspectors and contractors, and ongoing project support across multiple civil

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven progressive experience in consultant construction engineering.
• Proficiency with IDOT/Tollway construction management software.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.
• Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
• Maintain job site records of daily reports, meeting minutes, drawings, and pay requests.
• Review pay requests and verify completed work.
• Assist with design of future projects during off season.
• General civil engineering and client service.
