Job summary

TYLin, a leading infrastructure consultant, seeks an experienced Office Engineer for Southern California transportation projects in the Long Beach area. The role focuses on quality, safety, and collaboration within the Construction Management team.

Holders of a Civil Engineering degree with 5+ years in contract administration or inspection of bridge/roadway work are encouraged to apply. An Engineer in Training certification is preferred, with OSHA training or willingness to obtain it within 3

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Resident Engineer on daily tasks to keep project operations smooth.
  • Enforce construction safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe site.
  • Review and understand contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Assist in documenting pay quantities and developing the Final Estimate.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and document monthly progress payments.
  • Draft and track Change Orders and ensure accurate payment tracking.
  • Manage material inspections, certifications, and project acceptance docs.
  • Organize project files per Caltrans requirements and manage submittals, RFIs, and correspondence.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and assist with construction closeout documents.

Job Summary

Are you an experienced Construction Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the heart of Southern California? Our Construction Management team is seeking an Office Engineer to work on dynamic transportation projects across the Long Beach Area. If you have a passion for ensuring quality and safety in construction engineering, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with our Resident Engineer on daily tasks, ensuring smooth project operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; an Engineer in Training Certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience working with contractors and sub-consultants.
  • OSHA Safety Training Certification or willingness to complete it within 3 months of hire.

  • Reliable transportation is a must.
