Job summary

TYLin is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer/Office Engineer for Southern California transportation projects in the Long Beach area. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and collaboration with our team on dynamic infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with our Resident Engineer, ensure compliance with plans, and support the final estimate and contract administration processes. Strong communication and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge and roadway construction.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with contractors and sub-consultants.
  • OSHA Safety Training Certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Resident Engineer on daily tasks to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Enforce construction safety rules to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Review contract documents, plans, and specifications for accuracy.
  • Assist in documenting pay quantities and developing the Final Estimate.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and document monthly progress payments.
  • Draft and track Contract Change Orders and ensure accurate payment tracking.
  • Manage material inspections, certifications, and project acceptance documentation.
  • Organize project files per Caltrans requirements and manage submittals, RFIs, and correspondence.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and construction closeout documents.

Our Construction Management team is seeking an Office Engineer to work on dynamic transportation projects across the Long Beach Area. What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience working with contractors and sub-consultants.
  • OSHA Safety Training Certification or willingness to complete it within 3 months of hire.
