Job summary

TYLin is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to join our Southern California team as an Office Engineer for dynamic transportation projects in the Long Beach area.

You will work closely with the Resident Engineer, enforcing safety standards and reviewing contract documents while assisting with quantities, final estimates, and monthly progress payments. Strong organization and communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge/roadway construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Resident Engineer on daily tasks.
• Enforce construction safety rules.
• Review contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Assist in documenting pay quantities and final estimate.
• Ensure compliance with standards and document monthly progress payments.
• Draft and track Contract Change Orders and payment tracking.
• Manage material inspections, certifications, and project acceptance documentation.
• Organize project files per Caltrans requirements; manage submittals, RFIs, and correspondence.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and construction closeout documents.
