Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an experienced Construction Engineer to support transportation projects through construction project delivery, field engineering, documentation, and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

Professional engineering licensure in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain licensure.
No prior licensed engineering experience required; training provided with career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering work related to construction project delivery, field engineering, or construction oversight.
Review plans, specifications, estimates, construction documentation, and project records.
Monitor or assist with review of contractor work for compliance with DOTD standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
Coordinate with contractors, project engineers, inspectors, consultants, and internal DOTD staff.
Review quantities, documentation, payments, work zone information, or project-related materials as assigned.
Support construction certification, eConstruction, fabrication, field documentation, or final audit activities.
Assist with resolving construction-related issues, technical questions, or project delivery concerns.
