Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking an Entry Level Roadway Construction Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA. This role supports the construction management and inspection functions for transportation projects, applying engineering principles to interpret plans and ensure field compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and possesses a valid driver's license; TN visa eligibility may apply for some candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Preferred 1–4 years of roadway construction inspection experience.
• Client requested certifications.
• Active driver's license and ability to pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement.
• Gather and maintain record documents.
• Make field notes and computations.

JMT's Pittsburgh Construction Management Team is seeking an Entry Level Roadway Construction Engineer to be responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
• Gather and maintain record documents
• Make field notes and computations

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
