Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction EIT to join our Field Services team in Austin, Texas. You will support the Construction Manager across project execution, owner-representation, and on-site issue resolution, ensuring design adherence and field quality.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management, strong MS Office skills, and 2+ years of construction experience. Travel to multiple project sites may be required; you will collaborate with clients and engineers to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field.
Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong people skills and ability to interact with the design team.

Responsibilities

Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution.
Assist with the administration of one or multiple construction projects as an owner representative.
Assist with identifying and resolving design and construction issues in the field.
Conduct meetings with client and general contractor.
Work directly with the client and contractor to meet project needs and timelines.
Communicate with the project team and client throughout the project.
Oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs on a project.
Present job progress and issues in client meetings.
Prepare daily reports for each project.
Review and provide contractor schedule updates and CPM baselines.
Review contractor submittals and respond to inquiries.
Coordinate with others to obtain responses to RFIs and submittals.
Reviews pay documents and processes payments.
Determine change order impacts and negotiate with contractors.
Prepare change orders including justification and cost estimates.
Perform other engineering and construction management functions as assigned.
Communicate regularly with PM, HDR field staff, and clients.
Travel to projects may be required.
