Job summary

SAVI EHS in Yuma, Arizona, seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety on a large construction project. You will work with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.

The role requires a strong field presence, hazard identification, incident investigations, and development of site-specific safety programs.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of construction EHS experience.
• OSHA 510 certification required.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• OSHA 500 certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
• Experience conducting field inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training.
• Experience managing subcontractor and trade partner safety performance.
• Ability to communicate with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide EHS leadership and oversight for all assigned construction operations.
• Maintain a strong field presence throughout the shift.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and field observations.
• Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and work practices and ensure timely corrective action.
• Monitor subcontractors and trade partners for compliance with safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Review and participate in DHAs, JHAs, pre-task plans, and high-risk activity planning.
• Coordinate with project leadership regarding upcoming work activities and safety risks.
• Oversee high-risk activities including working from heights, material handling, electrical work, and lifting operations.
• Conduct or support site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Communicate safety expectations to a diverse workforce.
• Lead or assist with incident, near-miss, and property-damage investigations and ensure corrective actions are documented.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, training records, observations, and compliance reports.
• Communicate significant safety issues to project leadership and day-shift EHS management.
• Support day-shift turnover to communicate safety concerns and upcoming activities.
• Exercise stop-work authority when imminent danger is identified.
• Promote accountability and a proactive safety culture across all operations.
