Job summary

Confidential Employer is seeking an experienced EHS leader to drive safety strategy on complex construction projects in Rockville. You will own field safety, risk reduction, training, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives, mentoring EHS staff and influencing project leadership.

The role requires 4+ years of occupational EHS experience in construction and relevant certifications. You will engage across projects, ensuring compliance and elevating safety performance through

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Sciences, or related field; required unless equivalent experience.
• STS certification or equivalent required.
• CHST certification or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and federal, state, local safety regulations.
• Experience with field audits, high-risk construction activities, incident investigation, corrective action management.
• Proven leadership and mentoring of EHS professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive EHS audits, inspections, and risk identification across high-risk construction projects.
• Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and document resolutions promptly.
• Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses and Pre-Task Plans for high-risk work scopes.
• Integrate EHS requirements into preconstruction, logistics, project planning, and field execution.
• Lead project safety kickoffs, trade partner meetings, and leadership discussions on risk mitigation.
