Job summary

Ames Construction seeks a Document Controls Specialist to manage a large volume of construction documents at the project site, ensuring safe, smooth operations and strong records.

You will work with Project Managers and Engineers to issue submittals and RFIs, maintain detailed logs, prepare reports, and uphold MSHA-safe practices while coordinating with clients and internal teams. A technical degree and proficiency in document control tools are required; travel to site is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Technical Communication or related field is required.
• Experience in office work, documentation, and control preferred. Mining or Construction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue submittals and RFIs and manage document workflows.
• Maintain detailed logs of incoming and outgoing documents.
• Prepare and distribute agendas and meeting minutes; format documents for consistency.
• Enforce document control procedures and safety practices per MSHA standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers/Engineers and communicate with clients and internal teams.
