We are seeking a Construction Department Manager to oversee our construction team, ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction, efficient department operations, and successful project execution.

  • Lead and manage department operations, ensuring goals align with company objectives.
  • Identify and pursue bid opportunities through client relationships and postings.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring safety budget adherence, and timely completion.
  • Direct and support employees in safety practices, bidding processes and hazard communication.
  • Monitor annual goals, making strategic adjustments for improved performance.
  • Supervise staff, set goals, review performance, and provide mentorship and coaching.
  • Collaborate with HR to address employee needs effectively.
  • Manage department budget, enforce margin structures and ensure profitability.
  • Develop growth strategies, expand sales, and maintain client relationships.
  • Stay informed on industry competition and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Report on work in progress at financial meetings.
  • Provide guidance to Field Superintendents and strengthen field communication.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment and company loyalty.
  • Conduct site visits, participate in meetings and adhere to company policies.
  • Performs additional assignments as requested and maintains a teamwork attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards governing design and operating requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role.
  • Proven ability to manage projects that meet or exceed timelines and budgets.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical specifications and construction plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
