CyberCoders is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team focused on construction defect and civil litigation matters. The successful candidate will manage an active caseload, represent clients in court and ADR, and provide strategic legal guidance throughout disputes.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active state bar admission.
  • Significant focus on construction defect matters within civil litigation.
  • Proven courtroom experience including depositions, motions, evidentiary hearings, and trial support.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills; ability to draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and client correspondence.
  • Solid knowledge of construction law, construction defect claims, contract interpretation, building codes, and limitations/procedural rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a heavy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms, document management systems, and litigation support tools.
  • Excellent client relations, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with owners, insurers, contractors, and experts.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to travel to court appearances, depositions, mediations, and jobsite visits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active caseload from intake through resolution in construction defect matters.
  • Draft, review, and file complaints, answers, motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct factual and legal research and prepare persuasive memoranda and courtroom filings.
  • Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony and handle hearings and trials as needed.
  • Lead discovery, including written discovery, e-discovery, subpoenas, expert disclosures, and document production.
  • Develop case strategy and settlement recommendations; negotiate settlements and participate in mediations/ADR.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and consultants to manage expectations and progress.
  • Supervise junior attorneys, paralegals, and staff; review work product for accuracy and quality.
  • Manage case budgets, track billable time, prepare status reports, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards, including confidentiality and firm policies.
