Job summary

AMIkids Pensacola is seeking a Career & Technical Instructor (Construction) to guide youth in hands-on trade training and career planning in a high‑energy, on‑site setting. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with industry standards, and effective classroom management to help youth achieve their learning goals.

As part of AMIkids, you will implement lesson plans aligned with IEPs and the Blended Learning Model, supervise activities, maintain records, and pursue required certifications while

Qualifications

• Two (2) years relevant experience.
• Prior experience working with youth a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain industry specific credentials.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and oversee youth training in identified career and technical development.
• Assess and evaluate academic needs of youth; provide professional instruction.
• Advise youth on career options including guidance on coursework and specializations.
• Provide instruction according to lesson plans and IEPs with blended learning strategies.
• Design hands-on lessons to apply tools, equipment and industry techniques.
• Create and administer exams to evaluate lesson effectiveness and youth progress.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry policies and procedures.
• Motivate and guide youth toward goals; use behavior modification appropriately.
• Ensure proper use and care of PPE and equipment; minimize risks.
• Maintain training materials, equipment and inventory; keep youth records.
• Document youth industry certifications into national registry.
• Serve as advisor and positive role model for youth.
• Attend crisis intervention, physical restraint training, CPR and First Aid as required.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and attend to punctuality.
• Supervise day trips and activities; assist with special projects.
