Job summary

The role requires 3+ years in construction, a valid Texas driver’s license, and strong reading/writing of English for plans, safety docs, and reports. Full-time with 40–60 hours weekly.

Job description

We are seeking motivated, hands-on Construction Crew Lead. This is a working lead role—you will be an active member of a small crew while leading task planning, directing work, and ensuring high-quality, high-pace results on civil and site development projects. You will take direction from your supervisor, then independently interpret civil plans to outline and execute tasks with your crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and manage a small crew (4–8 members) on site work, grading, drainage, utilities, and construction projects while actively participating in the physical work.

• Plan and outline daily tasks and work sequences to drive efficient, high-pace execution and meet project schedules.

• Read and interpret civil plans, site drawings, and specifications; translate them into clear tasks for the crew.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and project leadership while demonstrating initiative to understand assigned tasks from plans and direct the crew independently.

• Enforce safety protocols, lead daily toolbox talks, and maintain a safe, organized job site.

• Manage on-site materials, tools, and equipment; complete daily reports and documentation (requires strong reading/writing skills).

• Safely drive to job sites and operate company vehicles/equipment as qualified; maintain an excellent driving record.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 25 years of age.

• Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean/good driving record (required for insurance and vehicle use).

• Ability to read and write English proficiently — required for civil plans, safety documents, reports, and crew direction.

• 3+ years hands-on construction experience, preferably in civil/site development, earthwork, or utilities.

• Prior crew lead, foreman, or supervisory experience in construction strongly preferred.

• Ability to read/understand civil plans and construction documents, then direct crew tasks accordingly.

• Physically fit: lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in Texas heat/cold/rain, stand/kneel for long periods.

• Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) — strongly preferred for crew communication.

• Heavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, excavator, etc.).

• OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training.
