Job description

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction. We have been in business for 120 years and operate more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants serving over 100 construction centers nationwide. Thousands of new buildings across America feature the familiar Morton M annually.

The Construction Crew Foreman (CF) will lead a team to construct quality projects that are profitable and provide a positive construction experience for customers.

Salary: $36.00 to $39.00 per hour based on experience, plus bonus potential.

Construction Crew Foreman Responsibilities:
  1. Provide professional leadership by creating a safe, organized, productive, and enjoyable work environment, treating all employees and customers with dignity and respect.
  2. Ensure crew members, including new hires, are fully trained and adhere to safety and construction procedures.
  3. Coordinate with the Area Crew Supervisor for ongoing training, utilizing manuals and best practices.
  4. Communicate with customers regarding contractual aspects of projects.
  5. Organize tasks for crew members to maximize success, utilizing their skills for training and growth, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  6. Lead by example, fostering cooperation for timely project starts and finishes.
  7. Plan daily activities, review assignments, set expectations, and discuss safety and performance.
  8. Manage projects, including plan reading, scheduling, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring project completion.
  9. Participate in interviewing, hiring, and integrating new employees.
  10. Recommend promotions, demotions, and wage adjustments.
  11. Enforce company policies related to safety, construction, and corporate standards.
  12. Complete all required paperwork accurately, including time reports, DOT logs, mileage, and change orders.
Qualifications:
  1. At least 3 years of management experience in the building construction industry.
  2. OSHA 10-hour, Equipment Operation, and Competent Person Certifications.
  3. Valid Class A CDL license.
  4. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  5. Proficiency in operating construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  6. Capability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments.
  7. Flexibility to work various schedules and weather conditions.
  8. Commitment to quality work and efficiency.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Organizational and planning skills, with the ability to measure and improve productivity.
  11. Ability to identify training needs and foster team development.
  12. Accountability and ownership of responsibilities.
  13. This role requires approximately 20% travel, including overnight stays possibly up to two weeks.
