General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Sr. Technician - 3rd Shift to join our Lincoln, NE team. We are rapidly expanding and looking for motivated, creative individuals to support and shape our organization as we grow.

GD-OTS provides reliable, affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With over 60 years of expertise, we design, develop, manufacture, and test a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes, and fuel tanks.

Major Position Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
  • Program, install, test, and maintain robots or automated components.
  • Assist in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conduct field trials, and prepare reports or records documenting actions or findings.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot defects or bugs, complete repairs, and provide preventative maintenance.

Manager Specific Requests:

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and associated control systems.
  • Read and understand equipment schematics.
  • Design simple electronic control systems, specify control equipment, and install control systems.
Basic Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree with 3-5 years' experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree
