Green Shield Deck Builders in Michigan is seeking a Crew Leader to oversee day-to-day crew operations and ensure quality deck builds from start to finish. This is a W-2 position with year-round work and no winter layoffs.

You’ll lead a 3-person crew, travel to residential sites daily, and mentor junior team members while maintaining safety and efficiency on every project. Applicants should have 3+ years in construction, leadership experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50+

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor.
• 1+ year of leadership or management experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel to residential build sites daily (150 mile radius).
• Able to lift 50+ lbs consistently and work outdoors.
• Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

As a Crew Leader, you’ll play a key role in overseeing job-site execution, supporting crew performance, and ensuring high-quality builds.

What You’ll Do

• Assist and Lead and support the day-to-day work of a 3-person crew
• Build high-quality residential decks from start to finish
• Execute advanced construction tasks (framing, measuring, cutting, assembly)
• Ensure safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met on every job
• Train and mentor Crew I and II team members
• Travel to residential job sites daily
• Maintain clean, organized, and productive job sites
