Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a dedicated Construction Cost Accountant to join our on-site regional office. This role focuses on applying accounting principles to compile, depict, and process project information, delivering financial insight and timely reports.

You will assemble and analyze data across payroll, equipment, subcontracts, and overheads; assist in forecasts, close the books, and ensure internal controls while supporting project managers and estimators on ad-hoc requests.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Experience in a heavy/civil construction environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with CMIC and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and analyzes payroll, equipment, subcontracts, and overhead data.
• Forecasts project revenue, margin, and cash flow.
• Prepares profit and loss statements and accounting reports.
• Prepares journal entries and assists in monthly close.
• Interprets accounting documents and summarizes information.
• Maintains procedural documentation and data accuracy.
• May audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and settlement reports.
• Supports construction managers and estimators with information requests.
• Supports internal control procedures and compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
