Position: Plant Engineering (PLE) Construction Coordinator

Pay Rate: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour (W2 ONLY)
Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense
This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered
Plant Engineering (PLE) Construction Coordinator, This is an industrial construction and facilities position, not a production-process engineering role.
Responsibilities
- Manage general contractors and subcontractors, testing agencies, schedules on specific facilities projects in support and coordination of overall plant construction project completion.
- Administer construction contracts; conduct on-site inspection to monitor plan compliance.
- Direct activities of contractors and subcontractors to support project schedule in compliance with plans and specifications.
- Research, plan, and administer building projects, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, and building materials.
- Present status reports to owner. Receive, review and coordinate contract changes into project delivery.
- Be intimately and completely knowledgeable of current and future activities in area(s) of responsibility and be able to implement countermeasures to support project schedule.
- Manage compliance to Construction Safety Requirements and maintain incident free projects.
- Complete daily field status reports for management review
- Review contractor change orders – validate scope and costs – submit for owner approval
- Coordinate between owner, contractor and A/E firm
- Support review and process requests for information, submittals, shop drawings and construction documents.
- Support weekly general contractor meetings.
- Meeting minutes and action item lists.
- Coordinate as-built, operations & maintenance manuals and training to user group and support departments.
- Support Kanban (commissioning and start-up) activities
- Review, prepare and coordinate completion of punch-list activities.
- Complete all acceptance testing procedures
Required Skills / Experience
- 5+ years as a Construction Coordinator and/or managing projects for an A/E firm within industrial construction or facilities.
- Cost-estimating and scheduling experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience using Primavera, Autodesk Build, BuildingConnected, and/or AutoCAD.
- EDUCATION: Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management OR skilled-trades experience with supervisory responsibilities as a superintendent or project manager.
Other Requirements
- 10%: Travel - (able to obtain a US Passport)
- 30%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
Desired Skills
- Automotive manufacturing experience within an assembly plant and/or powertrain/unit plant.
