Job summary

Wilson Construction Company is seeking a Construction Coordinator to provide project management support on utility transmission line projects and to assist in planning and coordinating technical work for electric utility construction.

This entry-level field position requires travel to various project sites across the Western United States, spending most time at field offices and reporting to the On-site Project Manager or Project Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Schedulers with administrative tasks.
• Enter daily project status data and prepare look-aheads.
• Prepare RFIs, transmittals, and submittals.
• Schedule materials and track deliveries.
• Assist with approval of material invoices.
• Track equipment and vehicles in the ROW daily.
• Maintain spreadsheets and provide project support.
• Deliver paperwork and run errands.

Job description

Title: Construction Coordinator
Location: Various Project Locations from Ely, NV to Twin Falls, ID

Wilson Construction Company (Wilson) has an immediate opening for a self-motivated Construction Coordinator with a positive, team-oriented outlook. This position will provide project management support on utility transmission line construction projects as well as assist in developing, planning, and coordinating the technical work for electric utility construction projects.

This is an entry level field position. The majority of work hours will be spent at a project field office. This position will require travelling to and staying at various project sites throughout the Western United States. Project durations will vary from a few weeks to multiple years. This position shall work under the direction of the On-site Project Manager or Project Superintendent.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting Project Managers and Schedulers with various administrative tasks;
• Entering daily project status data;
• Preparing three- and five-day look-aheads;
• Preparing Requests for Information (RFIs), transmittals/submittals;
• Scheduling materials and tracking deliveries;
• Assisting with the approval of material invoices;
• Tracking and reporting equipment and vehicles in the right-of-way daily;
• Maintaining various spreadsheets;
• Performing overall project support for all departments; and
• Delivering paperwork and performing other errands.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience;
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
• Experience in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 is a plus;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Strong organizational skills to include:
  • Coordinating, tracking, and meeting deadlines;
  • Following up;
  • Handling multiple tasks in a fluctuating workload;
  • Multi-tasking efficiently.
