Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Alabama is seeking a Construction Coordinator to manage field coordination for small to moderate projects under general supervision. You will work with construction contractors to plan daily tasks, monitor milestones, and ensure safety standards.

Ideal candidate has at least 5 years of industrial construction coordination experience, a BS in Construction Science or related field preferred, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Construction Science, Building Science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
  • Knowledge of company standards and good practices.
  • Understanding of engineering, procurement and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate construction activities for small to moderate projects under general supervision.
  • Plan and coordinate daily field tasks and logistics with the construction contractor.
  • Monitor contractor performance against milestones and completion dates.
  • Develop work-around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays.
  • Serve as the first line coordinator for all contractor activities.

What You'll Be DoingJob Summary: Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Knowledge and application of company standards.Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor’s activities are planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner.Working closely with the construction contractor to plan and coordinate daily field and construction tasks and logistical activities.Serve as the “first line” coordinator for all contractor activities.Monitoring contractor performance against contract milestones and completion dates as well as performance as it relates to the other activities on-site to identify conflicts or potential delays.Developing work-around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays in concert with other construction coordinators.This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance benefits, and matching retirement contributions.Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
