Your Opportunity - Construction Coordinator

The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for starting sold and specs homes to include submitting applications for permits, tracking the progress, and communicating the status to all departments. This person will also provide administrative support for a wide range of construction functions critical to creating our award-winning homes and neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

  • Permitting and starting of all homes and amenity structures for the Atlanta Region to include; maintaining the Starts Tracker and provide on-going status of permits to the all of the departments in the Region.
  • Prepare start packets for all homes. This includes ordering construction permit plan sets through corporate architecture, house location plans through the engineer, permit checks through accounting and water and gas meters through the local utility providers.
  • Attend the weekly meeting with Sales, Construction and Purchasing to provide updates on permits and answer questions, hear problems and assist with solutions.
  • Assist the Director of Construction, Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers with all of the administrative needs of the Construction Department to include expense reports, ordering supplies, setting up temporary utilities and preparation of the paperwork with the counties to obtain certificates of occupancy.
  • Building relationship with those individuals in building and planning departments that issue building permits.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Three years of administrative experience in the homebuilding industry including permitting
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to work with builder software program.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Very detail oriented with the ability to organize and manage large amounts of information.
  • Able to handle a fast paced, high volume work environment.
  • Basic understanding of procurement and/or supply chain management.
