Christman Constructors, Inc. in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting function and ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. The role emphasizes internal controls, cash management, and collaboration with external CPAs for tax and audits.

The ideal candidate has a CPA/CCIFP preferred with 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance, and a track record of developing teams within a construction or project-based environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years' experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• -or- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
• Four (4) years' experience managing direct reports within an Accounting Department and the accounting and finance process.
• Three (3) years' experience working as a Controller, preferably in the construction industry.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation.

Responsabilidades

• Establishes and maintains financial controls for the company's resources and collaborates with AP/AR and Contracts.
• Completes company and state-specific tasks and reporting as required.
• Prepares work papers supporting annual tax returns and the monthly close process.
• Mentors and develops accounting staff, enabling career advancement and optimal staff utilization.
• Coordinates annual tax return and annual audit with outside CPA firms.
• Reviews monthly close activities and analyzes operating results for accuracy.
• Prepares monthly financial statements and cash projections to manage balances.
• Supervises accounts payable processing for multiple entities and allocates costs.
• Maintains fixed asset records and internal controls; ensures timely reporting.
• Produces quarterly business unit reports with revenue, cash flow, and expense analyses.
