C.A.C. Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to join its accounting and finance team in Long Island City, NY. The role oversees multiple affiliate entities, ensuring GAAP compliance, accurate job costing, WIP reporting, and reliable financials.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction accounting, with hands-on CMiC and Sage 300 experience, and a background in public accounting or private industry. Strong communication and process-improvement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background in construction accounting, preferably heavy civil.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in job costing, WIP, and completion accounting.
• Experience with CMiC and Sage 300 is highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activities for multiple affiliate companies.
• Assist Senior Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review GAAP financial statements.
• Monitor project accounting, job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain records.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Coordinate with project management to ensure financial accuracy.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance.
• Analyze financial performance and drive process improvements.
