Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Newark, NJ seeks a Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations, leading AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations. The role partners with the CFO to manage project costing and financial reporting.

You will drive budgeting, cash flow forecasts, compliance, and internal controls while mentoring the finance staff and coordinating with operations on job costing for plumbing and HVAC projects. Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
• Knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred.
• Experience in Construction, Plumbing, HVAC or skilled trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions: GL, AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations.
• Ensure proper job costing and precise billing.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for each project.
• Assist outside accountants with monthly, quarterly and annual statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain vendor accounts and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Provide financial reports on profitability and cost controls.
• Manage cash flow and working capital for project funding.
