Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. seeks a seasoned Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations from our Newark, NJ headquarters. You will oversee A/P, A/R, payroll, and reconciliations, partnering with the CFO to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 7+ years of experience, and expertise in job costing for construction projects. Sage 100 Contractor and Microsoft Office skills are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years of related experience required.
• Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred.
• Construction, plumbing, HVAC or skilled trades experience preferred.
• A track record of improving financial results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with CFO on financial strategy and reporting.
• Prepare budgets and project forecasts.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Ensure accurate job costing and timely billing.
• Lead process improvements and SOP development.
• Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with project teams.
